Due to the health risks posed by the coronavirus, the Movimentos dance festival will not be taking place this year. This decision was inevitable for the management of the Autostadt in Wolfsburg in view of the continuing restrictions. Cultural events of this size cannot be held in the current situation.
Five appearances by the renowned Companhia de Dança Deborah Colker were planned in June 2020 to mark the 20th anniversary of the Autostadt. The production commissioned specifically for the anniversary, which was due to be presented for the first time as part of a major summer festival, had to be cancelled. The Movimentos Academy Dance Class rehearsals, in which children and adolescents from the region are developing their own choreography, are currently on hold.
As soon as the situation permits, a performance date for the Academy will be sought outside of Movimentos.
